Jennifer Lopez to Star in “The Governess”

Jennifer Lopez will be gracing the big screen with her presence again shortly.

According to press reports, she has signed to star in the Yari Film Group’s romantic comedy “The Governess” – which will be directed by Nigel Cole. "The Governess" was written by Kevin Wade, who also wrote another film Lopez starred in called "Maid in Manhattan," and Wendy Braff. Bob Yari will produce along with Sid Ganis, Alex Siskin and Simon Fields, Lopez’ producing partner. Shooting’s set to begin in Massachusetts in the fall.

The movie (which is scheduled to start filming in Massachusetts this fall) is about “a thief who gets a job as a nanny for a wealthy family in order to pull off a bank robbery. The thief’s plan is thrown out the window as she begins to fall for the father and the children.”

Lopez is also currently in pre-production work on the indie project “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.”

Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969, Aka J.Lo), the American actress, singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, fashion designer, and television producer turned 39 today.

She is the richest person of Latin American descent in Hollywood according to Forbes, and the most influential Hispanic entertainer in America according to People en Español’s list of “100 Most Influential Hispanics”. Starting in 1999, Lopez released seven albums, including two #1 albums on the Billboard 200 charts and four Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles. She won the 2003 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and the 2007 American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist. She has appeared in numerous films, and has won ALMA Awards for outstanding actress for her work in Selena, Out of Sight, and Angel Eyes. She spun her media fame into a fashion line and various perfumes with her celebrity endorsement.

Jennifer Lopez was born and grew up in the South Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodríguez, a kindergarten teacher, and David Lopez, a computer specialist. She has two siblings, Lynda and Leslie. Lopez spent her entire academic career in Catholic schools, finishing at the all-girls Preston High School, in the Bronx. She financed singing and dancing lessons for herself from the age of 19. After attending Baruch College for one semester, Lopez divided her time between working in a legal office, dance classes, and dance performances in Manhattan night clubs.

After months of auditioning for dance roles, Lopez was selected as a dancer for various rap music videos, a 1990 episode of Yo! MTV Raps, and as a backup dancer for the New Kids on the Block and their performance of their song “Games” for the American Music Awards in 1991. After being rejected twice, Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as a “Fly Girl” dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color in 1990. Soon after, Lopez became a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and made an appearance in her 1993 video “That’s the Way Love Goes”.

Personal Life:

Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, four days after his divorce from Torres was final. Their ceremony was private and unpublicized. In attendance were an estimated forty close relatives and friends. On the morning of the wedding, however, the media was tipped off and circled her backyard in helicopters. Photographs, alerting the rest of the world, soon followed. Reports fueled rumors that Lopez was pregnant but this was not the case.

Lopez gave birth on February 22, 2008 to fraternal twins, a girl and a boy, Emme Marbiel Muñiz, and Maximilian “Max” David Muñiz. The twins were introduced in the March 11, 2008 issue of People magazine for which the magazine paid $6 million.

Jennifer Lopez Will Compete In A Triathlon

Jennifer Lopez is planning to compete in a triathlon. The 38 year old who gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February, is already in training for the sports event. "Jennifer is training for a triathlon, in October," states the singer's husband Marc Anthony," adding that he'll cheer her on from the sidelines. "I'm very supportive. I'll be on my Segway (encouraging her)." Lopez’s training regiment includes running, biking and swimming.

It was revealed this week that Lopez never lets her twins wear the same outfits twice. She reportedly insists that the five-month-olds have new designer gear every day. "Jennifer was approached by a charity and asked to donate some dresses for a celebrity auction. She agreed and donated a gorgeous $10,000 frock," claims a well-placed source. "She also offered some of Max and Emme's clothes, telling organizers that she never lets them 'repeat' outfits.

Jennifer Lopez Opening More Stores

During a recent Moscow, Russia performance, Jennifer Lopez visited her JLO by Jennifer Lopez boutique in the Crocus City Mall. While there, she announced that by 2009, more of her stores will be opening in Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
