Jennifer Lopez To Star In Reality TV Show

Jennifer Lopez will star in her own reality TV series, which will be based on her life as a singer, actress and a new mother. She will finance and produce the project as well, the Associated Press reported. She said: "I'm looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together." The show will be broadcast on US cable network The Learning Channel (TLC). "I think it'll be something very exciting," Lopez said during TLC parent Discovery Networks' "upfront" presentation to advertisers in Manhattan on Wednesday.

TLC's president, Angela Shapiro-Mathes, described Lopez as being "unbelievably passionate about life" and promised she would be "an incredible role-model for our audience". Lopez and her third husband Marc Anthony, 38, became parents to Max and Emme in February. The singer had taken months to publicly confirm her pregnancy last year, despite constant speculation.

Lopez has appeared on reality TV before making cameo appearances in American Idol and MTV's DanceLife, which she also produced. Ozzy Osbourne and his family, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston have also starred in their own reality TV shows.

Jennifer Lopez's Early Morning Exercise Program

The 38-year old first time mother is reportedly getting up at 4 AM to start her exercise routine as she tries to get back her figure. According to online reports this is to accommodate the ‘demanding schedule’ having twins calls for. In addition to exercising seven days per week for at least three hours, the actress and singer is said to have cut all carbohydrates from her diet and is managing on 1,400 calories a day.

She is eating only high-protein steamed fish or chicken and fresh vegetables. A source added: "Jennifer doesn't allow herself any sugar, caffeine or alcohol and she only drinks purified water." "She spent the last month of her pregnancy planning her regime with a team of nutritionists and personal trainers. Her target weight is 120 lbs. She works out for three hours a day, seven days a week."

The Black Book of Hollywood Diet Secrets

Have you ever wondered how Jennifer Lopez got that lean, toned body apart from exercising which she does? There's a book that's revealed her diet secrets. "The Black Book of Hollywood Diet Secrets" reveals tips and little known diet tricks that stars like her, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Aniston use to stay fit.

The Black Book of Hollywood Diet Secrets

One tip says that many of them add large amounts of asparagus to their daily diets. The reason is that "Celebrities are using it as a laxative," explains Robin Plotkin, a registered dietitian in Dallas. "While yes, you might initially lose weight quickly by eating a lot of asparagus for example, it's not going to stay off," says Plotkin. "So it is just a quick fix."

Another item in the book has some celebrities saying that brushing your teeth can help curb your appetite. Plotkin says - that's true! "It triggers our brain to say, 'Hey lets stop eating for a while and enjoy that nice flavor that's in our mouth'."

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have been known to use the cookie diet method. They replace two daily meals with a single cookie. This method doesn't rank very high on the list. "That's not a great suggestion," Plotkin says. "Obviously they're not getting the calories, they're not getting the nutrients they need to keep their metabolism firing and thereby losing weight the healthy way."

British actress Elizabeth Hurley apparently eats bacon as part of her diet. Plotkin says that's part of a mind trick to overcome cravings for high calorie foods. "She eats it at breakfast, a small portion, which allows her to satisfy that craving for a high fat item."

Plotkin says one of her concerns is that many of the tips could give people the wrong idea about true healthy eating and living. "I think that people are going to perhaps get themselves into a little bit of trouble by doing this and suffering from some of the effects of heavy duty laxative use, or simply calorie restriction," she warns.

While some of the diet tips may not be so good, there are some good work out suggestions - like one given by Reese Witherspoon, who sometimes walks backwards. "Getting up and walking backwards turns on all the muscles in our posterior," he explains. "Our calves, our hamstrings, our upper backs, so it counteracts our seated posture."

Whether you're looking to drop a few pounds, or change your entire body, experts agree that losing weight takes dedication, and it's always best to combine a diet with an exercise program. Also, always check with your doctor before starting any new programs.
